5 small apples, peeled and cut thin
5 T sugar
1 t cinnamon
mixed together and set aside

3 C flour
1/2 t salt
2 C sugar
4 eggs
1 C vegetable oil
3 3/4 t baking powder
2 1/2 t vanilla extract
1/4 C orange juice
walnuts-optional

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, eggs and oil.
Combine flour, salt and baking powder.
Add to previous ingredients.
Add vanilla and orange juice.
Using a bundt pan, pour in half the batter. Layer the apples evenly, reserving a few for the top. Pour the rest of the batter into the pan. Place the remaining apples(and walnuts) on top. Bake at app 350 degrees for 45 mins. to 1 hour. use a toothpick to check if done.

This is one of many recipes that my Great Aunt Vivian loved to make, and we loved to eat! She was always proud of her work in the Heislerville United Methodist Church Womens' Missionary Circle and was loved by all who knew her.
