Verbatim as per Gary and Gene Shepherd, sons of Glen and Geneva Shepherd, owners of the Dairy Del.

baloney - ground (say 4 cups)
a little American cheese, also ground (about 1/2 c. or so)
pimentos run through after baloney and cheese (one of those small little jars, drained)
1/3 c. hamburger dill pickles, also ground
sweet pickle relish to taste
pretty sure they used salad dressing (not mayo) to finish

The boys say, "the dill pickles were run through the grinder last to clean out the grinder. We think the secret is the dill pickles that gave it a little tang (the difference compared to other ham salads)".

Someone who worked at the Dairy Del thought the secret was the Emge baloney.

That's how secrets are kept!

Russell told me he would like a Dairy Del ham salad sandwich a few months ago so I called Gary Shepherd!
