1 c. margarine
1/2c. butter
1 8oz. package cream cheese
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
I T. vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven 325
Grease and flour tube pan or Bundt pan
Beat margarine, butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and beat well. Add 1 c flour and beat. Add 2 eggs and again beat. Alternate flour and eggs beating well between each. Finally beat in vanilla. Spoon batter into tube pan or Bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean and cake is golden brown.
DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR FOR 1 Hour and 15 minutes even to check.

Great just as it is or add nuts and cherries. Freezes well. Is great toasted. I frequently make in loaf pans and recipe easily makes 2 large loaves or 3 smaller loaves. Great cubed for a trifle or as a base for strawberry shortcake.
