1 1/2 cups Datil Peppers
1 1/2 cups San Juan peppers or banana peppers
1 gallon ketchup
3 cups white vinegar
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 T salt
3 large bell peppers
6 large onions
1 or more cloves garlic

remove stems and seeds from peppers. In a blender chop all peppers, onions, garlic in vinegar. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Papa and Uncle Paul grew Datil peppers on their farm for about 5 years. They would sell the datil peppers and this sauce in the local area. they would also ship the peppers to restaurants in the north.
