1/2 lb. butter
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs
6 to 7 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar and vanilla slowly, mixing well. Add 5 eggs, 1 at a time, and beating well after each addition. Add flour which has been sifted with baking powder, until dough leaves side of bowl, add more flour if necessary. Take a pinch of dough, roll in hands until it is thin and as long as a pencil. Place on ungreased cookie sheet in the shape of an 8. Lightly beat the remaining egg and brush on the top of each figure 8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired. Bake for 20 to 25 min.
