Place the prime rib on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast at 370 degrees for 1 hour.Turn off the heat. Do not open the oven door.Let stand in the oven for up to 2 hours. Roast at 300 degrees for 45 minutes longer for rare; 50 minutes for medium-rare and 55 minutes for medium. Remove from the oven. Let stand for 10 minutes before carving.
