2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 cup butter @ room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
10 drops red food coloring
10 drops green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º F.
Combine flour and baking powder in a bowl.
In a mixing bowl, beat butter until softened.
Add sugar to butter and beat until fluffy
Add egg, vanilla, and peppermint extract. Beat well.
Add flour mixture slowly and beat until mixed.
Divide dough into 3 parts and put in separate bowls.
Stir red food coloring into one bowl, green into another bowl, and leave one white.
Cover each bowl and chill for 1 hour.
Roll each color into 1/2 inch diameter ropes. Twist all 3 together into one large rope.
Slice a 1/2 inch piece off the rope and roll into a ball and place onto ungreased cookie sheet
Repeat until all the rope is gone.
Dip a glass cup or jar into sugar and smash each ball into a circle.
Bake 8-10 minutes.
