12 large ripe guavas
2 or 3 cinnamon sticks
8 cups sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Dash of vanilla essence
Dash of grated nutmeg
Piece of lime or lemon (after cooking)

Directions:
De-seed the fruit, wash the fruit and cut up into small pieces.
Cook the fruit in a covered pot for one hour and then cool for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, spread a very thin cotton material and pour the cool mix into the bowl to drain or strain.
Take the 4 ends of the cloth and tie with a string.
Hold the bowl upside down and drain, this will take about 20 to 25 minutes.
According to the amount of cups you get from the draining, use
4 cups of sugar to one cup of fruit jelly mix.
Boil the jelly and sugar together for another 30 minutes on low heat, stirring constantly, adding cinnamon sticks, essence, lemon juice and nutmeg.
Pour into jars and add cubed lime or lemon.
