Rub for the ribs:
3 Tablespoons kosher salt ( used regular salt and half the amount )
2 Tablespoons chili powder
2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 Tablespoons paprika
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 full racks of baby back pork ribs , about 5 or 6 pounds (you can also use side ribs )

For the barbecue sauce:
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup light or dark molasses (not blackstrap molasses )
2 Tablespoons cider vinegar
2 Tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons paprika

Directions:

Mix all the rub spices together and rub into the ribs, let sit for about 2 or 3 hours. Wrap the ribs in foil and cook slowly in barbecue or oven at 200 or 250 degrees F for approximately 3 hours. Remove from foil and finish cooking the ribs slowly on the barbecue until nicely browned. Just before the ribs are finished brush the barbecue sauce on and cook for a few minutes more.

For the barbecue sauce ,mix the ingredients for the sauce together and cook until sugar is dissolved ,then brush on ribs the last few minutes of barbecuing. You may also use this as a sauce for the ribs when serving.
