1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c.chopped black or English walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, sugars, eggs, and salt. Combine flour and baking soda. Gradually add flour to shortening until smooth. Add nuts. Shape into rolls and wrap with wax paper or Saran Wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, overnight, or longer. Slice thin and bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet at 350º for 10 minutes or until golden.
