3 to 31/2 lbs of Chicken
6 cups water
1 Tbls butter
1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper


1 cup self rising flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
pinch of baking powder
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Bring chicken, water, butter, salt and pepper to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer about one hour or until fork tender. Remove the chicken from the pot and cut skin off- deboneand put chicken pieces back in to the broth in the pot to prepare dumplings.
In a medium bowl combine flour, salt, pepper and baking powder. add water and milk - stir together until all the flour is moistened and the mixture forms a smooth dough. On a lightly floured surface shape dumplings into a ball,roll to about 1 inch thickness and cut into eight pieces.
Return the chicken soup to a simmer drop dough pieces into the simmering soup , cover and simmer about 10 minutes or until dumplings are puffed and cooked throug
