- 1 box 918-19 ounces) German chocolate cake mix
- 1 bag (14 ounces) caramels, unwrapped
- 1 small can (5 ounces) evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 bag (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare cake mix in a bowl according to package directions. Pour
half of the batter into greased 9" x 13 " Baker. Bake 15 minutes. While cake is baking, melt caramels with milk and butter in a saucepan or double boiler, stirring until smooth. Slowly pour caramel mixture over partially baked cake.
Spread evenly.

Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1/2 cup pecans over caramel mixture.
Pour remaining cake batter over top, spreading evenly.
Sprinkle with remaining pecans.
Bake 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool before slicing.
