1 package spare ribs
1 large or 2 small rutabagas
salt (to taste)
pepper( to taste)
1 tbs sugar (or to taste)
1/4 stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and clean spareribs. Take off excess fat. Cut into one or two riblets and place in a large pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Pour off water, then add more water to pot, just covering the meat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until meat is almost tender. Peel rutabagas ad cut into slices or chunks. Wash and add to pot. Cook until meat and rutabagas are tender. When done, remove rutabagas. Place in large bowl and mash with a potato masher. Add sugar and butter, more or less to taste. Serve with ribs.
