Heat a deep fryer with oil to 350F. Soak raw nuts in boiling water about 10 minutes while the oil heats. Drain nuts in the fryer basket. Cook 7-10 minutes for peanuts and 6-9 minutes for almonds. Drain on paper towels and salt to taste.
Dad always made these while they were at home. We loved them and make them almost every year at Christmas time.
