1 lb. 93% lean and fresh ground beef (or ground lamb)
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. black pepper
1 small onion
¼ cup chopped parsley
¼ cup ice water
1 tbsp. olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Put meat in a deep dish. Grate the onion on the meat. Add parsley and all the spices. Add the ice water and mix well (as if you are kneading dough).

Place the mixture in a shallow serving plate. If desired, add a design to the meat. Imme used a spoon to make moon shaped crevices in the meat. Drizzle olive oil on top. Eat with pita bread.

Kafta nayé is a wonderful addition to the mazza table, but it is made with raw meat. My mother always bought fresh meat when she made this dish. Do not use thawed ground beef that was previously frozen. You want to make sure that you have fresh and lean ground beef or ground lamb for this dish.
