1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar,firmly packed
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/4 cup sour milk
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 3/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon soda
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup nuts, coarsely cut
1 cup seeded raisins, cut or whole

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter, brown sugar, salt, spices, milk & eggs and beat thoroughly----Sift flour with soda and add to wet mixture, then add oats, nuts, & raisins and mix thoroughly. Drop level tablespoons of dough on baking sheets. Flatten cookies by stamping with a flat bottomed glass covered with a damp cloth. Bake in moderately hot oven (375'F) 10-15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
