3-Cups Sugar
1/2-cup white karo syrup
Pinch salt
2-egg whites
1-tsp.vanilla flavoring
1-cup pecans
2/3-cup water (bring to boil then add to sugar)

Directions:
Directions:
Add sugar,karo,salt,and water together in boiler and cook on med. to low heat until it forms a soft ball when dropped into cold water (at least 15 minutes or more from time of boil). Beat egg whites until stiff ( do while syrup is boiling). When syrup is ready pour slowly into egg whites while beating when mixture begins to get hard add vanilla and pecans. Drop from teaspoon onto wax paper. Best to make candy on a clear cool sunny day not a cloudy day.

Mama made this candy every Christmas until she passed away March 1978. This was one of her most requested recipes at Christmas from family, friends,and anyone who had the privilege of tasting this scrumptious candy.
