31/2 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup oleo ( butter)
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
cinnamon& sugar
walnuts
candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
mix and sift flour, salt, soda,1 tsp cinnamon.Cream butter and sugar till fluffy,add eggs, one at a time. beat well, add dry ingred and mix well.
cover and chill ( stick in freezer if in hurry for 15 min.) shape into 1 inch
balls,roll in sugar and cinnamon,about 1 tsp cinnamon to 1/2 cup sugar.
press walnut half or candied cherry half on each cookie.
bake at 375 12 to 15 min ( seems a bit long , check in 10 min just to be safe.

I was excited to find this old recipe of my Mom's. Maybe we can make at Christmas--wouldn't a tray of half cherries and walnuts be pretty. Thanks to Teri I dug into Mom's old wooden recipe box and found some treasures!
