Oven: 325º ~ Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Combine first 5 ingredients. Place brisket, fat side up, in a large Dutch oven or roasting pan; pierce several times with a fork. Arrange potatoes and carrots evenly around brisket; pour broth mixture over top. Bake, covered for 3 1/2 hours, basting occasionally. Remove from oven; let brisket stand, uncovered, 20 minutes. Remove brisket from pan and slice. Return to pan and bake, covered, an additional 30 minutes or until tender.

This recipe works well in a slow cooker on high for about 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours.
