2 T. butter
1 medium onion, sliced
2# round steak, cut in serving pieces
3 C. potatoes, sliced
1 12-oz. can beer
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy skillet
Cook onion till lightly browned and remove and set aside.
Brown meat in skillet. Place alternate layers of meat, onion and potatoes in a 2-qt. casserole.
Pour the beer into the browning skillet, add seasoning and stir to loosen any browned bits. Pour over meat and cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
