1 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp baking powder
2 ½ cups all purpose flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening until soft. Add sugar followed by eggs and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients (flour, tartar, baking powder and salt), then add to mixture
Chill for ½ hour, Roll into tube shape giving 3 inch round, then slice and put on cookie sheet. Bake in over at 375º F for 8 - 10 minutes
