Cookie:
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup boiling water mixed with 1/2 cup cocoa
2 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup buttermilk (or add 1 T. lemon juice to 1/2 cup milk, let sit to thicken)

Cream filling:
3/4 cup milk
3 T. flour
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup Crisco
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
preheat oven to 350º

Cream together in mixing bowl, Crisco and sugar Add egg, mix well.
Add cooled cocoa and water mixture, mix well.
Sift together flour, b. soda, b. powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk starting and ending with dry ingredients.

Lightly grease or use non-stick cookie sheets.
Drop by tablespoon or cookie scoop onto sheets.
Bake at 350º 10 to 15 minutes depending on size, 'til done.

Cream filling:
In saucepan, cook flour and milk to a smooth paste, let cool,
Beat together softened butter, Crisco, sugar, and vanilla, beat well. Gradually add flour mixture until smooth and fluffy. Fill cookies flat sides together.
