6 pork chops or cutlets 1/2" thick or less
1/2 C. flour
3 T. butter
1/2 C. chopped onion
1 C. half and half
1 tsp. salt
1/2 C. apple juice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 Pippin apple, peeled, cored and cut in 1/4" slices

Directions:

Put flour in shallow bowl and coat chops on both sides. Brown chops in heavy skillet in 1 T. of the butter.
Remove browned chops to a platter.
Add remaining butter to skillet and saute onions until limp. Stir in the flour, then add the half & half gradually, stirring until smooth. Stir in apple juice, bring to boil, add salt and chops to mixture in skillet. Reduce heat.
Tuck apple6 slices between chops. Sprinkle with nutmeg, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
