For one 9" pie
3/4 C sugar
2 C tart cherries, drained saving juice
4 T flour or 2 1/2 T cornstarch
dash salt
2 T butter

For two pies
3/4 C cherry juice
1 C sugar
6 T flour or 3 1/2 T cornstarch
dash salt
3 cans tart cherries
3 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine juice, 1/2 C sugar, flour or cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.
Cook until thick.
Add butter and remaining sugar.
Pour over cherries.
Pour into prepared pie crust, top with lattice crust or well vented second crust.
Flute edges to seal.
Bake at 400º for 45 minutes to one hour or until brown.
