3/4 cup of butter or margarine (do not use all butter)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter/margarine, sugar, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt together; blend into the wet mixture bowl adding a portion at a time until all mixed well. Chill at least 1 hour.

Heat oven to 400º. Roll dough 1/8" thick on lightly floured surface. Be sure to flour rolling pin and all cookie cutters also. Cut cookies with cutters. Place on unbuttered cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until golden color on bottom & edges. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
