1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
2 cups cream, divided

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first four ingredients with 1 cup cream in large heavy pan. Bring to boil over low to medium heat stirring constantly for two minutes. Gradually stir in the second cup of cream and cook to 245 degrees for soft caramels or 250 degrees for very firm caramels. Pour into an 8" or 9" buttered pan and cool. Cut into squares and wrap in plastic or waxed paper.

A friend gave me this recipe. She sometimes uses 1/3 cup honey, 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar in place of sugars in recipe. She likes the taste of honey in them.
