2 Cups Butter
3 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
2 Eggs
5 Cups Flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tarter

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and powdered sugar – add in the vanilla, salt and eggs and blend well (a Mixer may be used)
Mix together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar
Add the two mixtures together and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour, so dough is firm.
Roll out dough on a flowered surface and cut with desired cookie cutter
Bake at 375 for 7-8 minutes or until very lightly browned

Frosting – Butter cream
In a mixing bowl combine 1 lb. of powdered sugar, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/3 cup (2/3 stick) butter. Beat with mixer until smooth and creamy. If to stiff, beat in a few extra drops of milk. Spread on cookies and let set. Place in airtight container – stays moist for many days.
