1 tbsp plus 1 cup soft butter (no substitute), divided
1 1/2 c coarse chopped pecans, toasted
1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups packed brown sugan
1 cup lt corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla extract

Line 13 x 9 pan with foil, butter the foil with 1 tbsp butter. Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips, set aside. In saucepan over med. heat, melt remaining butter. Add brown sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook and stir until it comes to a boil. Stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reads 124 or firm ball stage. Pour into prepared pan. Do not scrape saucepan. Cool completely before cutting.
