2 carrots, medium
1 onion, medium
1 clove garlic
3 stalks celery
1/2 green pepper
2 T. margarine
2 c tomato juice
1 6oz. tomato paste
1 bay leaf
3 T. brown sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 slices lemon
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Tabasco

Directions:
Grind together onion, garlic, celery, green pepper and carrots. Melt butter, add vegetables and cook till tender. Add other ingredients and simmer 1/2 hour.

Simmer it however long you want. It makes the house smell so yummy! Use it in Auntie Sis' Meat Loaf recipe and for whatever else you need BBQ sauce for. She always simmered "frankfurters" in the leftover sauce.
