2 sticks of butter, softened
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup cup ground flax seed
1 1/2 ups quick oats

2 cups chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In an electric stand mixer, combine butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. In a separate bowl; combine flours, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, wheat germ, and flax seed. Slowly add to the butter mixture. Mix-in oats. Once everything is mixed, add the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes at 375º.

Lauren and I created this recipe together for a school project. Her slogan was "Kid's love them because they taste good and Mom's love them cause they are healthy". They were a big hit at the 3rd grade "Invention Convention"!
