4 c sugar
½ tsp cream of tartar
2 c water
red food coloring

Directions:
Mix sugar, water and tartar. Bring to boil slowly. Stir constantly. Cover and boil one minute, uncover. Cook til hard crack stage (310º). Remove from heat and place in pan of hot water, add food coloring and dip apples
