3 cups white sugar
1 T. vinegar
1/2 cup cream
2 cups water
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Add vinegar to sugar and stir well. Next add cream and stir. Then add water and stir until dissolved. Cook mixture until it spends a thread when a small amount is dropped from a spoon. When done, pour on a marble slab to cool and add vanilla. Take up and pull until candy loses its gloss. Pull out in a long strip, lay back on slab and cut in pieces. When candy will not stick together, place in a tin box until it creams.

Granny Stewart always made this candy until she passed away. Then Mom and our family would make it together as a family project during Christmas. Recipe date 1925.
