2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Karo Syrup - white
1/2 cup boiling water
1/8 tsp cream of tartar

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in sucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is well dissolved. Then cook without stirring to soft ball stage (238º F) or until a small amount of mixture forms a soft ball when tested in very cold water. (during cooking remove crystals from side of pan with fork covered with wet cloth) Remove from heat. Pour at once on a cold, wet platter. Cool to lukewarm. Beat until white and creamy. Let stand 5 min. then knead until smooth. Store in covered dish 2 or 3 days before using.
