Dough needs to chill for 1 hour before shaping

1 cup soft butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tspn vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tspn almond extract

Decoration

Chocolate chip pieces cut in half
Unsalted peanut halves
Red licorice laces cut into 3" pieces

Beat butter an dsugar until fluffy.
beat in egg and extracts . Beat in flour until well blended. Cover and refrigerate for 1 Hr.
Roll dough into 1 1/2" balls and then reshape into mouse shape( tear like shapes) . Place two peanut halves in mouse for earrs. Half chocolate chip pieces for eyes and with wooden toothpick make a hole for the tail which you will put in its place after cookies are baked . Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 9-12 minutes. Mice edges should be light brown . Immediately after baking place licorice lace in hole for tail .
