4 1/2 cups flour
1 tspn baking soda
1 tspn cream of tartar
1 tspn salt
1 cup softened butter
1 cup powdered sugar sifted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 tspn almond extract

Frosting
1 can vanilla frosting
Crushed pepermint candy canes

Directions:
Directions:
Dough needs to be chilled for 30 minutes before shaping
Mix flour, soda, tartar and salt and set aside.
Beat butter , powdered sugar , and granulated sugar until fluffy . Add oil , eggs and extract and beat until combined. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix all until combined . Cover and chill dough.for 30 minutes . Preheat oven to 350º.
Break off chilled dough and roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet 3 inches apart . Flatten balls to a 1/4" thick. Bake for 10-12 minutes . Edges should be light brown . Cool cookies and then frost with vanilla frosting topped off by a hint of crushed candy canes.
