4 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 t. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 t. baking powder

Frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. butter
2-3 t. milk
1 t. vanilla
4 c. powdered sugar

Cookie:
Combine flour, soda, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening with fork until cornmeal like. Add remaining ingredients. Refrigerate. Roll 1/4 inch thick, cut into shapes, and bake for 7 minutes at 375º.

Frosting:
Mix ingredients in mixer.
