1/2 cup margarine or butter
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup cream style cottage cheese
1 egg
2 Tbl. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup diced mixed candied fruits and peels
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

In a large bowl beat the margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed until softened.

Add about half of the flour and all the sugar, cottage cheese, egg, milk, baking powder, baking soda, and vanilla to the margarine. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat or stir in the reamining flour. Stir in the diced friuts and nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. If desired you can garnish each cookie with half of a red or green candied cherry, or a pecan half.

bake at 375 for 9 to 11 minutes or until the tops spring back when lightly touched. Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minutes. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack
