2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Melted Shortening
2 Eggs, Beaten Thoroughly
1 Tsp. Soda
3 Tbsp. Boiling Water
1 Tsp. Baking Powder
4-1/2 Cups Sifted Flour
1 Tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Mix well. Add vanilla, add boiling water with soda dissolved. Gradually add flour. Roll, cut in any shape or drop by spoon. Bake until lightly browned.
