1 Cup Shortening
2 Cups Sugar
4 Eggs
3 Cups Flour
1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Soda
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Buttermilk
3/4 Tsp. Lemon Flavor
1-1/2 Tsp. Rum Flavor

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one or two at a time, beating well after each. Mix dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour into tube pan. Bake about 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Drizzle while hot with: 1-1/2 cups of sugar and 3/4 cup water. Boil for 3 minutes. Then add lump of butter and 1/2 tsp. rum flavoring.
