1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1-2 drops Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper

Optional (Michelle's additions)
2 cloves chopped garlic
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 stalk celery chopped
2 tsp. Hot sauce

Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan, bring to a boil, then reduce heat & simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Ribs
Turn oven on to Broil
Put ribs into roasting pan, spread 2-3 tbsp. oil over the rib & salt and pepper to taste. Place under broiler and brown ribs on both sides. Watch ribs carefully so that you don't burn them. When ribs are browned, remove from oven, pour off all drippings & oil.
Reduce oven temp to 325-350 ºF
Pour BBQ sauce over browned ribs. Cover ribs & bake for 2-3 hours or until tender.

To serve 4-6 people I usually cook 2 pkgs. of ribs (3 pkgs. of baby back ribs) & double the Sauce recipe.
