1 Cup melted shortening
1 Cup flour
1 Cup brown sugar
4 Cups old fashion oats (not quick)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs beaten
1 Tablespoon vanilla
nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, and shortening. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to mixture. Add eggs, vanilla, oats and nuts. Dough will be crumbly. roll balls of dough and place on baking sheet. Flatten with a fork. Bake at 325.
