1/3 c. water
1/4 c. tomato paste
3 T. brown sugar
1 T. prepared mustard
2 t. seasoned salt
2 t. cider vinegar
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. beef bouillon granules or 1 cube
2 lbs beef short ribs
1 small tomato, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 T. cornstarch
1 T. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
In a 3 quart slow cooker, combine first eight ingredients. Add ribs, tomato and onion.
Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or until meat is tender.
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Gradually stir into cooking juices. Cover and cook for 10 - 15 minutes or until thickened.

Some times I like to prepare this the day before without thickening the sauce, and refrigerate it. The next day I'm able to remove the congealed fat before reheating for serving.
