1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp.pepper
1 onion sliced in strips
1 can each: kidney beans (washed and rinsed), one can wax beans (drained) and green beans (drained)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, vinegar, water, oil, salt and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cool. Mix the onion and beans together and pour the sauce over all, mixing well. Place in a glass or plastic container and let marinate in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours (at least) and stir occasionally.

This is a never-fail salad that is great with ham or pork (or chicken or ribs or......). Keeps well in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks
