1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, eggs and buttermilk. Blend in flour, soda and salt. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Drop by spoonful on baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Heat oven to 400 and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
