2 c. sugar,
2 c. butter,
2 eggs,
2 t. vanilla,
15 oz. can pumpkin,
4 c. all purpose flour,
2 t. baking powder,
2 t. baking soda,
1 t. salt,
1 t. cinnamon,
1 t. nutmeg
Frosting:
1/2 c. butter,
1/2 c. brown sugar,
1/4 c. milk,
1 t. vanilla,
1 3/4 c. powdered sugar,
food coloring

Cookies:
Heat oven to 350. Cream first 4 ingredients together, stir in pumpkin. Mix well; set aside. Mix remaining ingredients; gradually add in pumpkin mixture until well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool; frost.
Frosting:
Heat butter and brown sugar until melted and dissolved; remove from heat. Pour into mixing bowl; blend with milk and vanilla. Stir in enough powdered sugar for desired spreading consistency. Add food coloring until it gets to a pleasing color (otherwise the frosting is a very unappealing color!)
