3 cups diced rhubarb
2 cups sugar
1/4 cups margarine
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups milk
1 T cornstarch
1 cup boiling water
few drops red food coloring

place rhubarb and 1/2 cup sugar in greased 8x8 inch pan
cream together 1/2 cup sugar, margarine,vanilla
combine four,baking powder,salt add to creamed mixture alternatley with milk
spread over rhubarb
combine cornstarch with remaining cup of sugar,sprinkle over batter
combine boiling water,food coloring pour over top
bake 325 for 45 min
then at 350 for 15 min more
