1 T. canola oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
4 clove(s) garlic, minced
8 oz. ground lamb
8 oz. 93-percent lean ground turkey
3/4 tsp.) salt
4 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 can (15 oz.) chickpeas, rinsed
2 T. harissa or 1 T. chili powder
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 T. chopped fresh cilantro or mint

Directions:

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until beginning to soften, about 3 minutes. Add lamb, turkey, and salt and cook, stirring and breaking up with a spoon, until no longer pink, about 4 min. Add tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, until they have released their liquid and are beginning to break down, about 4 min. more. Add chickpeas, harissa (or chili powder), and cinnamon and cook, stirring, for 1 min. more. Serve garnished with cilantro (or mint).
