8 tsp. butter
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. small diced onion
1 c. small diced carrots
1 c. small diced celery
4 c. cooked wild rice (8 oz. dry)
1 qt. strong chicken broth
1 qt. 1/2 and 1/2 (can use fat free)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. ground thyme

Directions:
In a large pot melt butter. Sauté veggies until tender over medium heat. Add flour and mix until all flour is incorporated into butter, cook for 3 min. Add chicken broth and blend until smooth. Add heavy cream and cook until thickened and bubbly. Add wild rice and heat through; add salt, pepper and thyme to taste.
