Ingredients:
Ingredients:
50 Kraft caramels, unwrapped
2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
1 german chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter or margarine
around 1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 pan. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Melt, stirring a coupe of times while cooking. Set aside. Melt butter or margarine, and combine with cake mix , 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, and nuts if desired. Mix well with a spoon. Spread a little more than 1/2 of the batter in the bottom of the pan and bake for 6 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over the top. Pour caramel over the chocolate chips, and sprinkle the other half of the chocolate chips on top of the caramel. Finally, crumble the remaining dough over the top in clumps. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. To cool faster, place in the fridge or freezer.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I use any kind of chocolate cake mix (devil's food or milk chocolate) in these brownies and I can't tell a difference. They don't look as pretty as some desserts, but this is one of two desserts that my husband will actually eat his share (or more) of. The other is sugar cookie bars, which are also posted.
