1 large onion
2T. shortening
1 large 29 oz. can Tomato Puree
1 small 6 oz. can tomato paste
3 ( 8 oz each) glasses of water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp paprika
pinch red pepper
salt and pepper (to taste)

Directions:
Dice up onion . In an 8 quart stock pot, cook onion with the shortening till nicely browned. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer for several hours till the consistency of spaghetti sauce. Add the baked Hot dagos and drippings to the sauce and simmer together till flavors blend.

Serve with crusty bread or spaghetti noodles and Parmesan cheese.
